Opening Reception and Artist Conversation: Melvin Edwards on Festivals, Funerals, and New Life

Please join us for a conversation between sculptor Melvin Edwards and performance and media artist Tony Ramos on Edwards' latest exhibition at the David Winton Bell Gallery, "Festivals, Funerals, and New Life." Edwards and Ramos have been artist colleagues and friends for over forty years. Traveling to and working in Africa together many times, Ramos created important films documenting Edwards’s projects in Africa in the 1970s. The artists will explore their work, camaraderie, and themes emerging from "Festivals, Funerals, and New Life."
