URI Brain Fair

Presented by University of Rhode Island: George & Anne Ryan Institute for Neuroscience at Avedisian Hall, University of Rhode Island

Boost your brain knowledge at the URI Brain Fair! This free, family-friendly event will feature hands-on activities, puzzles, demonstrations, and presentations where you can learn more about how the brain works, and about how URI scientists are helping push the frontiers of brain science and the treatment of brain diseases.

Activities planned include:

–What it looks like inside a human brain
–How the connections between parts of your brain help it process information
–How exercise, a healthy diet, and mindfulness are good for your brain
–What it’s like to suffer from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
–How your brain makes decisions
–Why some people are color blind

This event is part of Brain Week Rhode Island (March 11-18, 2018), a week-long celebration of brain health and brain science for Rhode Islanders of all ages. Creative learning activities and events include expert panels, talks, film screenings, workshops, and a Brain Fair with interactive science exhibits.
