The Brown Graduate Center Bar (GCB) is a great place to socialize with fellow graduate students, undergrads, and other members of the Brown community. The bar features a great selection of bottled beer and an eclectic and frequently rotated range of tap choices. As a nonprofit private organization, the GCB strives to offer students affordable prices and good cheer. A happy customer on Beeradvocate.com describes it as “Providence’s best beer bar, period.”

The GCB is located at 42 Charlesfield Street on College Hill in the basement of the Graduate Center complex. The entrance might be a bit tricky to discover, but if you just follow the throng of thirsty graduate students turning on Charlesfield St. from Thayer St. chances are you will get to your destination. Just find the door that looks like it belongs to a nuclear bunker, and take the stairs down to the basement.
