While the primary mission of Rhode Island Indian Council is to serve Native American people, through the mission of the Algnoquin House, it can also provide support to the melting pot of people living in Providence by renting space and supporting the consortium of services being offered by its tenants.

The RIIC officially opened the Algonquin House in 1996 with four tenants and a dream of remodeling the building in order to meet the increasing needs of residents of South Providence.  Today that dream continues to move ahead.
