The Rick’s Musical Instruments, Inc. legacy began with a humble, garage based instrument repair business founded by Richard Verfaille. Rick’s pride in his craftsmanship and strong work ethic were well noted by his customers. Soon he was able to open a store front location in Cumberland, Rhode Island that not only specialized in instrument repair, but also in the sale and rental of band instruments, sheet music, and accessories. With continued growth, employees were added, and it became apparent to Rick that he also needed to bring aboard a staff of professional instructors to offer individualized lessons to customers. This growth led to the store’s move in 2011 to its larger and current location at 2352 Mendon Road, Cumberland. In September of 2014, a second location was added at 492 Winthrop St., Rehoboth, MA with the acquisition of Doug’s Music, now doing business as Bravo Musical Instruments

Today Rick’s Musical Instruments, Inc. has become even more specialized, and is well known among musicians in Southern New England and beyond. It is operated by formally trained, professional musicians who have worked in performance, education, and the music industry.
