The Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr. Community Center is a multi-service agency providing nutritional, educational, social and referral services to hundreds of individuals and families throughout Newport County. Incorporated in 1922 and renamed in honor of Dr. King in 1968, the MLK is one of Newport’s oldest grassroots organizations. The privately funded, non-profit community center offers the area’s highest-volume food pantry and only daily meal site, plus a comprehensive roster of educational and enrichment programs.
