Chan’s Fine Oriental Dining has become an institution in Rhode Island, offering fine Oriental dining along with some of the finest jazz, blues and other musical offerings in the country.

Chan’s introduced Woonsocket to its unique oriental delicacies in 1905. In 1965, Ben F. Chan purchased the then New Shanghai Restaurant and nine years later the Chan family refurbished the original dining area, changing the name to Chan’s Fine Oriental Dining. In 1986, we had the opportunity to double our restaurant size to offer jazz, blues, folk, cabaret, and comedy performances to our customers. Since then, Chan’s has played host to many of the finest local and internal artists and has earned a reputation as one of the premier jazz and blues clubs in the country.
Dining

Our nationally recognized jazz and blues club allows patrons to view some of the finest musical and other entertainment acts in the world while munching on our exceptional cuisine. We have presented some of the best known local and international blues, jazz, folk and other musical artists, along with several special events such as Rhode Island premieres of films with a Rhode Island connection, including "There’s Something About Mary" and the recent film about the Warwick Tent. In addition, a monthly "open mic night" takes place on the final Wednesday of each month, providing anyone with musical talent to play on stage by themselves, with other participants or occasionally, a celebrity artist.
