Bellevue-Ochre Point Neighborhood Association

Nonprofit

50 South Main Street, Providence, RI 02903

In January 2008, the Ochre Point Neighborhood Association and Friends of Bellevue merged together as one organization to form the Bellevue-Ochre Point Neighborhood Association (BOPNA), which is now a recognized 501(c)(3) entity for Federal Tax purposes.

The Bellevue-Ochre Point Neighborhood Association is one of the local neighborhood groups in Newport that, together and individually, provide valuable input to the City and its boards on various citizen concerns. The boundaries of the BOPNA are defined by the R-60 zone and historic residential district located south of the Bellevue Avenue commercial district, extending south of the ocean, east to the ocean and west to Coggeshall/ Spring streets.

The Board continues to focus its efforts on the inadequate repair of Bellevue Avenue, and on working with the Preservation Society and Salve Regina University as they develop and restore their properties. We maintain our commitment to preserving the residential nature of our neighborhood while supporting the long term viability of our partners.
