The organizing committee is comprised of a dedicated cadre of bike obsessed maniacs……BikeFest RI is the brain child of ED Raff, Jenna Johns-Yu, Patrick McEvoy, Chachi Carvalho and Matt Moritz.

Ed is a life-long bicyclist and a teacher at the Met School’s Public Street Campus in Providence RI.  Through his efforts to create a new certificate program to teach high school students practical skills and self-reliance, in the Met School tradition, ED’s been spreading the bicycle bug.

Patrick McEvoy:  The director of Recycle-A-Bike in Providence has reenergized the organization in the past two years.  His singular determination has transformed the organization into one of the most effective bicycle advocacy and education organizations in the state.  He is a life-long educator, husband, father of two and is currently trying to figure all of that out while making obsessively advocating for biking in Rhode Island.

Matthew Moritz: President of the Board at Rhode Island Bicycle Coalition and a driven advocate for the bikers of Rhode Island.  He is charged with providing social media, website support, as well as being on the lookout for events, vendors and other items to make BikeFest RI a success. It is his goal that BikeFest Ri have something for everyone.

In addition, BikeFest RI is lucky to have Cape Verdean music sensation Charles (Chachi) Carvalho:  The music master and speicalist at the MET.  In charge of the entertainment and keeping the festival moving and shaking.  Chachi heard about the event and immediately signed on with his own group and to help with all aspects of the festivities.
