The non-profit 501 (3) (c) Canstruction(R) RI food charity is run by a committee and teams of volunteers from the architecture and construction community. Their biennial canned goods sculpture exhibit at the Providence Place Skybridge Concourse provides tens of thousands of canned goods to the R.I. Community Food Bank. The event is sponsored by the American Institute of Architects-RI chapter, the RI chapter of Associated General Contractors and many other donors. It is part of the national Canstruction(R) food charity, which has become one of the largest and most consistent canned food contributors in the world to food banks. Local events are organized through American Institute of Architects chapters in cities in North America as well as Australia, South America, Europe and Asia.
