OUT LOUD Theatre was founded in the Fall of 2009 by a crew of URI Freshman looking to make a start. Sparked by Founding Artistic Director, Kira Hawkridge (University of Rhode Island B.F.A. Graduate, 2012), OUT LOUD was an opportunity to bring groups of students together to discover, explore, and experiment in the realm of the Theatre Arts.

In 2012, Kira teamed up with Marc Tiberiis II to create OUT LOUD Theatre. Since its new start in 2013 as a fully formed Troupe, OUT LOUD Theatre has continued to focus on minimalism, core emotional work, and a complete dedication to the physical life and relationship of character. Productions have ranged from movement pieces, to original compilations, to State wide Tours, to Rhode Island Premieres.

As an ever changing, ever learning, and ever collaborative group – OUT LOUD Theatre aims it's sights towards artists looking to build and work from the ground up. In the spirit of a Troupe – OUT LOUD Theatre is made up entirely of a traveling group of artists – moving from location to location – exploring and creating with diverse resources, elements, and visions.

From process to final product, each production has a unique and cohesive Artistic Team and vision, calling upon experimental elements that are explored through movement, music, and text. Through these raw materials, their laboratory process explores immersive storytelling thorough shoestring innovation. OUT LOUD Theatre continues to strive toward supporting and creating new and innovative ways of reaching an audience and telling a story.
