The Bristol Art Museum (BAM) offers a variety of art exhibits each year in its new home, a renovated 1860s carriage house on the grounds of the historic Linden Place mansion. The conversion of the interior space has created three galleries on the first floor, with five artist studios and a multi-purpose room for classes and lectures on the second floor. BAM was established in 1963 and also offers year-round exhibits for local and emerging artists at Rogers Free Library across the street at 525 Hope St. BAM also sponsors an annual outdoor art exhibit, “Art Al Fresco,” on the last Sunday of July along the fence at Linden Place and participates in Art Night in Bristol and Warren on the last Thursday of each month from May to September. Outreach with other cultural organizations to promote programs on the arts is part of BAM’s mission. The museum is a 501@(3) nonprofit organization managed by an all-volunteer board.
