Visiting Nurse Home Care, formerly know as Visiting Nurse Service of Greater Rhode Island, is an independent, non-profit, community-based home health and hospice provider located in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Founded in 1908, the organization’s tradition continues to be rooted in providing high-quality care to residents of Rhode Island and southern Massachusetts.

In 1908, Visiting Nurse Home Care provided 3,000 visits to 219 patients using Woonsocket’s "electric cars" to travel from home to home. Last year, our employees made over 80,000 home visits utilizing computer-based solutions to monitor and address each patient’s medical needs.

Over the years, we have embraced the changes necessary to guarantee we will be able to serve patients wishing to receive care in the comfort of their homes. Although much has changed, our commitment to providing compassionate home health and hospice has remained constant.
