Fortress of Nightmares is a fundraiser for The Fort Adams Trust. The Trust is responsible for the preservation and restoration efforts at Fort Adams and utilizes the funds generated by this event not only to close end-of-year budget gaps, but to aide in the restoration and preservation efforts going on around the Fort.

To promote the event, we use different types of media, including video, for the production of trailers, teasers, and promotional content. Please see our terms of use and make sure you agree to them prior to purchasing a ticket to the event. Beginning in 2006, Fortress evolved year after year until 2009, when it took a new direction. In 2009, we turned Fortress of Nightmares in to an attraction with two separate events under the name.

— Tunnels of Terror — is a traditional haunted maze style event, where guests are forced to make their own way through the Forts historic tunnel system – alone, unguided, and in the dark, with actors along the way to give you the startle of your life! This event is not recommended for those under 12, women who are pregnant, guests with known medical conditions such as asthma or epilepsy or anyone with weak bladders.

— Fortress Ghost Hunts — is a unique paranormal investigation, led by paranormal researchers and Fort Adams tour guides. Guests are lead on a 55 minute tour through the officers quarters, and restored areas of the Fort while conducting investigations in each area along the way. This event is not recommended for those under 12.
