Bending Genre: Writers in Conversation

Bending Genre: Writers in Conversation

Presented by Providence Public Library and Rhode Island Council for the Humanities at Providence Public Library

National Book Award Finalist M.T. Anderson (Feed; Octavian Nothing saga; Symphony for the City of the Dead); URI Professor of literature and creative writing Mary Cappello (Life Breaks In: A Mood Almanack), and author Dawn Paul (The Country of Loneliness) sit down with Kate Wells of the Providence Public Library to discuss how their work bends, disrupts, and redefines traditional genre distinctions, including historical fiction, memoir, biography, young adult, and fantasy.

Bending Genre: Writers in Conversation is presented by Providence-area writing group The HiFi (Historical Fiction) Collaborative, co-sponsored by the Providence Public Library and made possible through major funding support from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, an independent state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
