Outstanding American Gardens Field Trip Series: Hollister House and Brush Hill

Outstanding American Gardens Field Trip Series: Hollister House and Brush Hill

Presented by Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum at Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum

Beautifully situated on a sloping, terraced site in the rolling hills of Litchfield County in northwestern Connecticut, Hollister House Garden is an American interpretation of such classic English gardens as Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, and Hidcote, formal in its structure but informal and rather wild in its style of planting.

Hollister House is owned by George Schoellkopf and Hollister House Garden Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the house and garden. Members will meet and greet with Mr. Schoellkopf and have lunch on the property after a guided tour.

After lunch, we head to Brush Hill Gardens, the home of Charles Raskob Robinson and Barbara Paul Robinson, author of Rosemary Verey: The Life and Lessons of a Legendary Gardener.
