Tour the Museum

Presented by Lippitt House Museum at Lippitt House Museum

A National Historic Landmark, Lippitt House has one of the best preserved Victorian interiors in America featuring elaborate painted finishes, ornate woodwork, and original furnishings. Built for textile magnate and Rhode Island Governor Henry Lippitt, the house was lived in by four generations of the Lippitt family until it was donated to Preserve Rhode Island in 1981. A 45-minute guided tour highlights the museum’s art and architecture and lets visitors step into Providence’s Golden Age through stories of the Lippitt family and the domestic servants who lived and worked there.
