For one day only, Rhode Island Humanities takes 50 years of humanities out of the box in a rare and exciting display of culture, history, and visions of civic life.

Mobility Access:

The WaterFire Arts Center (WFAC) is an ADA compliant venue. There are two ADA parking spaces available at the main entrance. Wheelchairs (2) are available on request. 50Fest will take place on WFAC’s ground floor. The venue has three sets of ADA compliant restrooms, two on the first floor and one accessible by elevator on the second floor.

Blind and Low-Vision:
Service animals are welcome at WFAC. Documentary film descriptions, poster exhibition labels and descriptive text will be downloadable as a 508 and WCAG AA compliant PDF, designed to be used with a screen reader, one week before 50Fest.
Large print (18pt font or greater) copies of printed materials will be available.

Deaf and Hearing Loss:
The films featured in the festival will be closed-captioned in English.

Parking:
WFAC has a 37-vehicle parking lot adjacent to the building’s main entrance with two accessible parking spaces. Additional parking is available in the adjacent ALCO parking lots.

Public Transit:
The nearest bus stops:
92 bus stop at Atwells Avenue and Harris Avenue and a 0.4 mile walk.
56 bus stop at the VA Hospital and a 0.4 mile walk.

Food and Drink:
Complimentary coffee, boba tea, and water will be provided while supplies last. Food will be available for purchase from local food trucks. Food may be consumed in the designated dining area during the event and also outside.

Restrooms:
The venue has three sets of ADA compliant restrooms, two on the first floor and one accessible by elevator on the second floor. An ungendered universal restroom is located on the first floor near the WaterFire Store.

Lighting:
The venue has many large windows and will be lit by natural light during the event.

Sound:
There will be music playing at a moderate volume in select locations within the venue.
