Summer Class: Painting the Light in Watercolor

As part of its summer class schedule, the Bristol Art Museum will offer Painting the Light in Watercolor with Paul George on Mon., July 24 and Tues., July 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Museum. The workshop will begin with a review of the basic materials and then explore how to work from photos. The class, geared for those of all artistic abilities, will focus on the importance of creating light in paintings by studying shape, value, color and edges. Participants will learn how to create drama and excitement in their work.

George has won more than 100 artistic awards throughout New England and nationally. He is a member of the Rockport and North Shore Art Associations and the New England Watercolor Society. George was twice awarded the prestigious Gold Medal Marine Master at the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport and twice recognized with the Award of Excellence. Since 1995, George has taught watercolor and oil paining in the United States and Europe.
