Imago Foundation for the Arts welcomes Otis Read

Presented by Imago Foundation for the Arts at Imago Foundation for the Arts

Read has been a Rhode Island staple in the folk and acoustic music scene since 1971. During the 1980s and 1990s, he produced albums of instrumental Christmas music (New England Christmastide) for North Star Records. Read later collaborated with Rhode Island premiere tin whistle and accordion player, Phil Edmonds, to produce “Under The Arch,” followed with recordings by former world music enthusiasts, The Gnomes, and then his own recording of original songs, “Turn a Page,” borrowing from country, jazz, blues and folk traditions.

Joining Read is Jim Corwin on guitar, with whom he has collaborated for more than 50 years. Together, along with bass player and vocalist, Peter Breen, they will be presenting Read’s original music with three-part vocal harmony, acoustic and electric guitars, harmonica, dobro and bass.

Expect this concert to be packed with bits and pieces from Read’s long musical journey.
