The Collaborative Art Gallery in Warren RI is recognizing youth artist – Austin Hall – for the month of September 2022.  Austin is a rising senior at Barrington High School and has an exceptional talent of taking typical, everyday pieces of metal and welding incredible characters.

A born builder and designer, Austin is a maker. Whether it’s building armor from boxes and duct tape, intricate Lego landscapes, online game design, or free-welding characters, Austin is a creator who recognizes that the story behind each art piece is as important as the piece itself.

“I was so eager to start welding but had to wait until I was 15 years old, the required age, to join The Steel Yard in Providence for welding classes and I’ve never looked back.” Austin enjoys arriving at the studio, discovering what metal pieces are available to use, and spontaneously building. No character is preconceived or preplanned. He loves bringing a character to life and some of his work is featured on his website at magicwithmetals.com.
