Women’s Well-Being Index Launch & Panel Discussion

Presented by The Women's Fund of Rhode Island at Online/Virtual Space

Join our expert data panelists to discuss the findings from our Women’s Well-Being Index launch.
The Women’s Fund of Rhode Island (WFRI), a leader in the movement to improve policies that impact women and girls in Rhode Island, announced the launch of a new centralized online tool. The Women’s Well Being Index measures women and girls’ status in Rhode Island on various measures and ranks them by city/town or county.
Known as the Rhode Island Women’s Well-Being Index and located online at
https://wfri.org/rhode-island-womens-well-being-index/, the tool is a multifaceted,
composite database that consists of five “dimensions,” including Health, Personal
Safety, Employment and Earnings, Economic Security, and Political Empowerment. Each
dimension comprises multiple indicators that have been standardized and then used to
rank Rhode Island’s cities and towns on these measures. Policy briefs are included for
each dimension to share ideas about what policymakers can do to make Rhode Island a
better place for women to live.
The panel will be moderated by Paige Clausius-Parks, Senior Policy Analyst at RI KIDS
COUNT, and will feature expert insights from:
● Angela Kemp, Director of Prevention and Special Projects at DayOne
● Nishi Kumar, Manager of Policy and Research, RI Housing
● Dr. Deborah Pearlman, Associate Professor of the Practice of Epidemiology,
Brown University
