Sharing his personal story about starting a family farm, Mike will discuss why eco-friendly gardening is so important, and how you can incorporate some of the best planning and preparation practices at home. Whether or not you’re starting your first garden or have been gardening for years, there’s something new to learn and put into practice. Roots Farm is a 1.3 acre certified organic vegetable farm run by Mike and Kelli Roberts in Tiverton, Rhode Island. This diversified farm uses an intensive, year-round growing style with high and low tunnels that allow for maximum efficiency of the land acreage, while making a variety of nutrient dense crops available throughout the year.
