The instructors of Floreciente Dance Class will be running a weekly free outdoor salsa class every Sunday this summer.  For those individuals interested in beginning their salsa journey, we will be conducting a beginner’s class from 7:00-7:40 pm, during which we will introduce the foundations of both timing and footwork in New York Style Salsa Dance.  The class will begin with a head-to-toe warm up, followed by explicit instruction on commonly known steps (called shines), and will conclude with a short combination footwork that we will practice at various speeds of music.

After a short water break, an intermediate class will run from 7:45 – 8:25.  The intermediate class will consist of a faster warm-up, followed by a teaching and practicing new combination footwork that will increase in both difficulty and speed.  There will be no partner work as we are dedicated to a safe class, during which all participants will be wearing masks and dancing within 6 feet of personal space marked off by provided safety cones.

Water, masks and hand sanitizer will be provided for anyone who needs it.

While this is a free class that is open to the public, there will be a tip jar available on site for anyone who would like to make a donation or contribution during these difficult times.
