Do You Remember House? (2019) is an interdisciplinary study that historicizes house music, the rhythmically focused electronic dance sound born in the post-industrial maroon spaces of Chicago’s queer, black, and Latino social dancers.

Engaging with and extending the fields of African American studies, urban studies, gender and sexuality studies, dance studies, performance studies, popular music studies, ethnomusicology, and media studies, Do You Remember House? considers house music culture’s liberatory potential in relation to its flexible repertoire in motion, an ever-expanding archive of danceable sounds perseverance.
