RIGHTS OF PASSAGE Presented by The Providence Gay Men’s Chorus
Using songs in the mainstream, from the Broadway stage and the movie screen to the pop charts, the PGMC tells the stories of the human experience that are unique to the LGBTQ community and yet common to us all. The music is bold and yet quiet, bright and yet subtle; filled with honesty and openness, sharing and bonding. There is no attempt to tell just one particular story – this isn’t the journey of Richard or Robert or Michael or Jason or Darryl, etc. This is the journey of us all. Regardless of the path our lives have taken, whether by accident or by fate or by careful control, we have all experienced moments of discovery about ourselves. We’ve all felt a little something when he walked into the room. We’ve all smiled to ourselves when we remember that first kiss. We’ve all felt the joy of knowing “someone likes me!” We’ve all felt the stab when that “like” has faded away. We’ve all felt victory and loss. Come share this journey and the PGMC’s “Rights of Passage.”
