Let’s Burst Our Bubble & connect!

This will be a kickoff event for what I hope will start a community-wide conversation about taking the initiative to help people to reconnect.

Many of us feel disconnected & it seems like one on one, in person or on the phone conversations are too few & far between. And in our over-worked, overwhelmed lives, too often we replace actual social interactions with social media web browsing–time spent scrolling through Facebook feeds rather than face to face interactions. We’re stuck in our Social Media Bubbles, our Work Bubbles, our Political Affiliation Bubbles, and so on…

Here’s the challenge & my bold request to you:
1) Bring a friend, co-worker, or someone from your social media feed that you don’t know well or haven’t seen in a while to this event on Thursday May 2. If that’s too easy then bring 5!
2) Arrive a six & bring ideas to contribute to a white board that you can offer to get people to Burst Their Bubble.

3) We’ll have directed conversations because let’s face it most of us are a little rusty & the reason THIS ISN’T A NETWORKING EVENT is because we’re not getting together to mill around awkwardly & talk about what we do for a living.
4) BURST YOUR BUBBLE: get out of your comfort zone & connect with people, in person, for real.
