Live Bait: True Stories from Real People is RI’s oldest and most ballyhoo’d adult story-telling show. On the first Friday of every month, everyone is welcome to come up and share a 6 minute TRUE story based on the monthly theme.
On the first Friday of every month for the past 10+ years, intrepid Rhode Islanders have been coming to AS220 to share pieces of their souls on the Live Bait stage. No matter how outrageous or mundane the themes (and there’s been plenty of both and plenty of in-between), people have taken them and made them their own. There’s no way of knowing how themes will be interpreted and it’s been consistently surprising, to say the least.
With that in mind, be prepared for just about anything on March 1st, when the theme will be “Yummy.”
If anyone has a true story that in some way, shape or form fits this theme, come to Live Bait, they absolutely must put their name in the fishbowl and, when called, come up and tell it. Remember, please: no notes, no rants, no aimless ramblings, no stand-up routines, and there is a six-minute time limit. Of course, all are more than welcome to simply sit back and listen.
Live Bait is hosted by Phil Goldman, with banter, musical accompaniment and monthly theme song by Jerry “The Professor” Gregoire.
$7.00 at the door. No reservations taken.
Free to Brown students with Current ID.
