“Inventive, emotionally satisfying and just plain joyful…the audience was ravenous for more.” —BILLBOARD
Celebrate FirstWorks’ 15th season with a high-voltage evening featuring the runaway hit, Star Dust, a glorious dance set to the music of David Bowie performed by America’s first fully multicultural ballet company.
This bold, spectacular extravaganza has been thrilling audiences around the globe, and Providence is next! Full of glitter and glam, Star Dust is a love letter to David Bowie. It takes an array of Bowie’s iconic hits and lays a visual imprint inspired by his unique personas to create a rock-inspired ballet in his honor. The Washington Post hails it as “simply one of the most exciting performances I’ve seen.”
Complexions makes it “sensationally, jaw-droppingly clear that we live in the age of the super-dancer, at a time when technical virtuosity is being redefined as an expressive state” —Dance Magazine.
Founded by master choreographer Dwight Rhoden, former Alvin Ailey principal dancer, and the legendary Desmond Richardson, the first African American principal dancer of the American Ballet Theater, Complexions Contemporary Ballet reinvents dance.
