3 AMAZING BANDS WILL EXPLORE THE PRESENT & FUTURE OF RHODE ISLAND MUSIC
DAN SAN BAND
Formed in 2004, The Dan San Band recorded 3 full-length albums of catchy pop & groove rock. They performed all over New England until 2011. In 2018, singer, songwriter & keyboardist Dan Sanfilippo got back in the studio with an all new lineup of musicians and a funkier, more soulful sound. The style has a 70s funk/fusion/pop feel that picks up where the Dan San Band’s self titled debut album left off, but adds a new horn section and rich back-up vocals. This nine-piece band is a powerhouse of sound, performing original music that is simultaneously soulful, joyful, intricate, and energetic.
THE DEVELOPMENT
Challenging the status quo of high school rock bands, The Development relies on their passion for experimental music composition by using complex chord structure and time signatures. From jazz to rock; From funk to symphonic; The Development is evolving and expanding the future of popular music and are an inspiration to young musicians around Rhode Island.
NGHTSWM
Synthpop duo NGHTSWM are the originators of sad dance music. Tom Sargent and Jess Croft have been writing and performing together since 2016. Their unique mix of Tom’s high energy sound & Jess’s introspective lyrical exploration creates an immediate impact on the Providence electronic scene. They released their first single MAKE YOU SAD in July 2017 and recently won the 2018 Electronic Artist of the Year from The Dorry Awards.
