Led by music director Mark Davis for the past twenty-five years, the Providence Mandolin Orchestra performs a wide repertoire of music from around the world including many original compositions. The program for Hamilton House will include the Prelude No. 2 by Yoshimizu, “Reverie de Poete” by Manente, and a new arrangement of “Recuerdos de l’Alhambra” by Francisco Tarrega.
The PMO enjoys a reputation as one of the best American mandolin orchestras, with various CD’s and several international tours to its credit. The instruments of the orchestra comprise separate sections of mandolins (both American and European models), mandolas, mandocellos, classical guitars, and string bass.
