Imago Foundation for the Arts will launch a new speaker series called “Artists Speak” at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 with a talk by Annu Palakunnathu Matthew, photo-based artist, MacDowell Fellow, and University of Rhode Island (URI) Art Professor.
The “Artists Speak” series will feature presentations by four established Rhode Island artists who will present their artwork and tell the stories of how their creative lives and careers unfolded, enriching our communities in unexpected ways. The series aims to heighten public understanding of how the arts connect to building community.
This activity is made possible in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA), through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Other funding is provided through the Rhode Island Legislative Grant Program, BankNewport and the Jay Barry Cultural Arts Foundation.
