Bill Evans had a gift for melody that was simultaneously swinging and beautiful, often adding secondary melodies that were richly woven into his improvisations underneath the melody.  His music was one of Joe Godfrey’s first and greatest influences as a piano player.

Joining Joe in this musical tribute will be Matt Passeroni on bass and Charles Kalajian on drums.  The interplay between the three instruments was crucial to the sound of the Bill Evans Trio, and you will hear much of the same type of interaction with this group as well. 

Their tribute will include some of Evans’ most recognizable tunes that range from quick waltzes, to laid back blues, to “out there” compositions.
