I create holiday greeting cards, original paintings, and I develop a wide variety of character illustrations. I am inspired by a variety of fine art genres, classic and contemporary comic art, children’s book illustrators, and the classic Hollywood animators of the 1940s-1960s such as Chuck Jones, Tex Avery, and Robert Clampett.

I constantly study the relationships between line, color, shape, composition, and texture. I use a combination of traditional and digital techniques wherein I achieve a variety of expressionistic styles. Some of my pieces involve an initial underlying sketch while others are created straight from a loaded brush. By utilizing a variety of mediums, I have gained a deeper awareness of color and I have discovered new ways to synthesize both graphic and expressionistic styles within my subjects and characters.

My illustrations are the result of a process-oriented work method originating from meticulous research, sketches, and concept pieces. In essence, they are both traditional and whimsical artworks.
