The Links, Incorporated was established in 1946. It is one of the Nation’s oldest and highly revered women’s organizations dedicated to championing issues impacting the African-American community. The Links, Incorporated was established in 1946. It is one of the Nation’s oldest and highly revered women’s organizations dedicated to championing issues impacting the African-American community. It is an organization of 12,000 women linked in friendship and dedicated to service. Links members have volunteered to contribute over 500,000 document hours of service annually. Locally, the Greater Providence Chapter of the Links, Incorporated consists of 14 women dedicated to the five programming facets of the organization: International/National Trends and Services; Services to Youth; Health and Human Services and The Arts. Among the many outreach campaigns of the chapter, its programming includes the nationally acclaimed Harriet Harmon Kelly Art Exhibit – Rhode Island’s largest privately owned African-American art exhibit and the award-winning LIFE Program hosted at Bryant University.
