Founded in 1966 by acclaimed fortepianist Mary Sadovnikoff, Museum Concerts of Rhode Island presented its first performances in the Great Gallery of the Museum of the Rhode Island School of Design. A life-long advocate of authentic instrument usage, Sadovnikoff oversaw the expansion of Museum Concerts, which has continued over the decades to grow as an organization run by dedicated volunteers that brings to life the music of past centuries, performed by adept and informed musicians.
