JEFF&GORDON

Jeff Foye lives in Wakefield, Rhode Island. Gordon Winiemko resides in Long Beach, California. The artists began collaborating a few years ago when they were graduate students at California State University Long Beach and UC Irvine, respectively. They style their collaborative moniker as JEFF&GORDON – all caps, ampersand, no spaces. Their website is www.jeffandgordon.net. In their video, multi-media, and participatory work, the artists engage with the social customs and cultural idioms through which identity and social relations are forged – cultural frameworks that are so much a part of the air we breathe that we often ignore how they shape our lives, for better or worse. The duo has had celebrated solo exhibitions in California under their collaborative name at the UC Riverside Sweeney Art Gallery, the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara, Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center, Monte Vista Projects, and more.
