1pm: Registration + Networking
· Connect with other creatives over culturally local bites
· Display and/or sell your book, chapbook, zine or artwork
· Sign up for a free author headshot session with a local photographer (available between 1-4pm)
· Sign up for a free 20-min audio recording session with local podcaster Tribble (available between 1-4pm; record a 5-min sample for your portfolio or podcast)
· Sign up for a flash fiction workshop from 2-3pm
· Sign up to share your work during the 5-7pm Open Mic
2pm: Writing Workshops
· Flash fiction workshop from 2-3pm in the Training Room with local author Christopher Gonzalez
· Drop-in writing session with blackearth collective + lab (local poets Justice Ameer Gaines and Kou Tukala Nyan) from 2-3pm in the Conference Room
3pm: Professional Development Panel
Becoming Us: The Professional Journey of Writers of Color from 3-4pm in the Salon. A conversation with recipients of the MacColl Johnson Fellowship Chrysanthemum Tran and Hernán Jouba on when and how they started writing for the public and where they found support along the way, facilitated by local journalists LuzJennifer Martinez and Frank Maradiaga.
4pm: Communal Meal
Share a meal together from 4-5pm
5pm: Open Mic
Celebrate Writers Like Us from 5-7pm in the Salon with host Charlotte Abotsi.
