We invite you and your families to join us on April 18, 2024, for the second annual WaterFire Day in celebration of the release of the 2024 WaterFire season schedule. It also marks the first WaterFire of the year: WaterFire will be lighting the twelve stationary braziers in the Providence River alongside Memorial Park. The lighting will be preceded by a press conference with community leaders, the coCEOs of WaterFire Providence Peter Mello and Barnaby Evans, and representatives of the WaterFire Providence Board of Directors.
You can expect to hear that WaterFire is back with another full season of full and partial lightings beginning in April and concluding in December. Following the press conference, the twelve stationary braziers alongside Memorial Park will be lit shortly after the sun sets at 7:30 p.m. The fires will burn until 9:30 p.m.
To celebrate the occasion, WaterFire Providence will be hosting a fundraiser encouraging Rhode Islanders to explore Providence’s renowned restaurants, bars, and shops. Visitors have the opportunity to generate extra support for WaterFire by visiting any of the participating WaterFire Day businesses, which will all be donating 10% of their sales on April 18 to WaterFire Providence.
