The Perceptible Universe: Photographs by Shaun Martins

Shaun Martins’ photographs have a stylized stripped down look, not unlike many of the fashion photographs he admires. He combines arresting imagery with abstract shapes and forms.  Martins likes to tell a story, but clearly it is “the rhythm and flow of the photograph” that matters the most to him.  There is a sense of anticipation in his work, the intensely quiet moment right before something happens, that give his photographs power.
