Our featured poets are Louie. and Co-feature Nelle Nel
Nelson is a Providence based writer, originally from the Bronx, NY.
While fairly new as a spoken word performer, Nelson has been writing for over 2 decades.
Nelson uses humor and honesty to explore topics such as mental health, addiction and self love.
He believes that through ART we can heal and become the best versions of ourselves. Nelson also wants to inspire slow drivers to stay out of the left lane.
Louie.
When you mix together perseverance, thoughtfulness, a curious hunger to learn, a bit of creativity, a whole lot of intention, and an infinite amount of love, you get the beginnings of a poet.
Louie is a poet, writer, and overall creative based in Providence, Rhode Island. He is one of the co- owners of The Daily Note, in which he’s assisted with monthly poetry shows since 2016, beginning at As220 and now hosted at Revival Brewery. He also works as a creative content writer for Ting Barnard\\\’s Studio & Ian Travis Barnard Photography, where he puts his many pens to poetry, scripts for videos, and other scriptwriting opportunities, plus he has some credits as an associate producer on content created for the likes of the Papitto Opportunity Connection and Sophia Academy.
Louie realized his love for writing in early high school. To put a date to it: around the time President Obama was sworn into office. Every day since then has been a journey through poetry, music blog writing, and writing rhymes that will never see the light of day. But it all culminated in the poet and creative he is today.
