Providence Singers Hosts Online Workshop Series: Music Theory, Part 1

A series of workshops for singers interested in building vocal and musicianship skills.

Led by Providence Singers assistant conductor John Black, the theory workshops will provide an introduction to fundamental concepts of music. Topics covered will include elements of pitch and rhythm, intervals, construction of the scale, key signatures, musical form, and basic analytical and interpretive techniques. The sessions will begin by laying foundational concepts, continually emphasizing applications to the choral art while layering more advanced components of music theory.
