Playing with Fire: Celebrating Women Trailblazers in Music

Experience 12 centuries of music by pioneering women in a unique music, theatre and dance format. Featuring Judith Lynn Stillman, artistic director/pianist, special guests Shura Baryshnikov, dancer/choreographer, Jeanine Kane, actor/narrator, and members of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra including Charles Dimmick, Katherine Winterstein, Abigail Cross, Rachel Braude, Ian Greitzer and Steven Laven. The artists are joining together in a multimedia concert celebration to mark the 100th year of the 19th Amendment! The program includes Louise Farrenc’s Trio in E-Flat Major, Amy Beach’s Piano Quintet in F-Sharp Minor, works by Florence Price, Clara Schumann, Cécile Chaminade and more!
