Multidisciplinary panel on “Perspectives on Time” at Imago on August 17

Moderated by former Providence Journal journalist Linda Borg, the panel includes Camille Abdel-Nabi, an organic farmer; Mary Dondero, a visual artist; Vivian Eyre, a poet; Cassie Roberge, PhD, a biomedical engineer; the Rev. Gabrielle Sclafani, a hospice chaplain;  and Rai Terry, an audiovisual archivist.

From the precise calculations of time critical to scientific study to the grounded experience of passing seasons measured by farmers to the aesthetic response of moving through time expressed by artists and the spiritual perspectives of clergy, Borg will lead the panelists through a multidimensional exploration of time as they share perspectives on time that are unique to their work, life and philosophy.

As an added feature, the discussion will take place in the gallery against a backdrop of artwork created by 16 current IFA artists and selected and curated by IFA’s Exhibition Committee to demonstrate how artists’ work develops and evolves over time. The exhibit, “Perspectives on Time,” is on display at Imago through August 27. Regular gallery hours are Thursday 12 – 3 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 12 – 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 – 4 p.m.
