Founded in Wakefield, Rhode Island in 1974, Hera Gallery/Hera Educational Foundation was a pioneer in the development of alternative exhibition spaces across the country in the 70s.
On Wed., Mar. 20, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Museum invites art enthusiasts, community members, and supporters to attend a special lecture and presentation by Sonja Czekalski, a key figure in the Hera Gallery’s rich 50-year history. Czekalski will share insights, stories, and reflections on the gallery’s remarkable journey, highlighting its significant contributions to the art world and its unique position as one of the earliest women’s cooperative galleries in the U.S.
