Exhibition: Freedom Is My Favorite Position by Nafis M. White

Sculptor and multidisciplinary artist Nafis M. White brings together sacred ritual objects, sculptures, video, installations, performance and digital media to ask, What does it mean to be at the intersection of submission and reclamation, to exist on the sweet peripheries of life and death, drinking the intoxicating nectar of memories made while exploring fertile landscapes signifying what is and welcoming the unknown with open arms and upturned hands? 

The exhibition is curated by André Bloodstone Singleton.

Opening reception and performances take place on February 4th, from 6-8pm. The Opening is free and open to the public. CCA’s galleries are always free to the public.
