Drawing with Fire - Pyrography

Join us at Wickford Art Association for “Drawing with Fire”. Pyrography is the art of drawing with a heated metal-tipped pen. Unlike paint, ink or graphite that sits on top of the canvas or paper, burning significantly alters the surface, much like etching or engraving. Pyrography combines the sharp crisp details of pen & ink with softness of charcoal to create unique sepia-toned qualities unlike any other medium. Cate McCauley, of West Greenwich, RI, is one of our latest Juried Art Members. She will be giving a talk about her work in pyrography and bringing her equipment so you can try it for yourself.
