Breeze Against Wheeze 5k/3k Race

The Annual Breeze Against Wheeze 5K is a race organized by Alpert Medical School students to fundraise for the Community Asthma Program at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. Proceeds go directly towards their Asthma Camp, which supports Rhode Island children ages 9-13 with moderate and severe asthma, who often come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. The comprehensive educational program provides children with the tools, knowledge, and resources to control their asthma under the guidance of physicians, therapists, and EMTs. Campers learn to be more independent and active in management of their asthma in a fun and interactive setting, where they are able to participate in swimming, arts and crafts, and sports. This will be the 19th Breeze Against Wheeze race and past years have drawn nearly 150 participants, with wonderful support from the greater Providence community.
