ALRI Meet the Artist

At The VETS Gallery and in conjunction with ALRI’s current exhibit, Beyond Choreography – visual interpretations of movement,  four exhibiting artists will be available to meet with the public and offer aspects of their art making.

A Cemal Ekin, a RIC-retired professor emeritus, has been involved with photography for over 60 years. His prints are in the public and private collections in the USA and abroad. The prestigious magazine, LensWork published more than 70 photographs from Ekin’s Infrared Earthscapes series in November 2011. He is included in the first edition of International Masters of Photography published in December 2012. Festival Ballet Providence commissioned an original ballet inspired by and featuring a collection of Ekin’s photographs of dried orchids. The ballet,Orchis, was performed on March 8-10, 2012 in Providence.
