10-Minute Play Writing Workshop with David Rabinow

Feeling bogged down by the 5-act, 3-hour, 14 character monolith you’ve been writing? Always wanted to write a play, but afraid of running out of paper? Or are you just curious as to what exactly a ten-minute play is?  THIS IS THE CLASS FOR YOU! We will look at some short plays from the masters of the genre, we’ll talk about what makes short plays work a little differently than their full-length sisters, how to deepen and develop your work, and create and workshop your own 10-minute play! Our December 8th session will feature an on-stage reading of work developed in the class and read by local actors. Additionally, students will be invited to submit their plays for consideration to be part of the 4th Annual Gamm Studio Theatre Lab Short Play Festival in the Spring.
